How To Join Knitting In The Round On Double Pointed Needles

If you use double pointed needles (dpns) your stitches will be divided between three or four needles and worked with another double pointed needle (see photo below). Cast on your desired number of stitches onto a set of straight needles.

How to join knitting in the round on double pointed needles. What does it mean to join knitting in the round? The thirds needle is a replacement needle. Then you get off the bus and transfer to another bus/needle.

This joining of stitches is what makes circular knitting possible. The needle to the left of the needle with the working yarn is where you will join. Knitting with double pointed needles is very different.

Use one less needle than is in your set of dpn’s. You get on one bus/needle and ride a little way. The adjustments i make are to squeeze together the stitches on the left needle so that they are ready to be fed towards the point, and to spread the stitches on.

Distribute your knitting onto 3 needles (or 4, if you prefer, and you have a total of 5 dpns) 2. To join knitting in the round is to connect the first and last cast on stitches together. Cast on all of your stitches on one dpn, then divide them between the number of needles you want to use. First take your 3 needles and lay them down (see picture). You ride a bit more, and then get off to transfer to yet another bus.
